FAITH IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
FAITH in the name of JESUS is the key to accessing the power in His name. Every child of God needs to understand the power in the name of Jesus. Our true understanding of the power in His name will fuel our FAITH and bring to pass the tremendous results that we crave for in life. Ultimately, God wants us to grow to a level in our FAITH, where we know when we pray, that if we have prayed it in the name of Jesus, then it must happen. Whatever the trouble, if our prayer was done in the name of Jesus, answers must come.
In Philippians 2:9-10, the scripture tells us that “God also hath highly exalted Jesus, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth…” Take note of the things that must bow—things in heaven, things on earth and things under the earth. This is how powerful the name of Jesus is — there is no territorial limit to its potency. His name works everywhere!
We must never be amongst those who casually call on the name of JESUS—without FAITH and without understanding. This was a major difference between the seven sons of Sceva and the one man in Mark 9:38-40, who casted out devils in the name of Jesus. As a quiet follower, that one man learnt, understood and developed his FAITH in Jesus. So, he could command the same results as the disciples when John saw him (v 38). On the other hand, the sons of Sceva had no relationship with, or FAITH in the name of Jesus. As a result, the name in their mouths did not evoke any power. We know the rest of the story; those vagabond Jews were overpowered and wounded by the demon-possessed (Acts 19:13-16).
We must have FAITH in the name of JESUS because FAITH in His name will be needed more and more in these last days. Throughout our lifetime, we must never lose hold of the fact that when we call on the name of Jesus, everything is possible. No matter what we face, salvation will come at the mention of His name.
The name of Jesus is the only name that has the power to truly save. In Romans 10:13, the Bible says that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” If you call on the name of the Lord as a whosoever, you will be saved in your health, finance, marriage, family, career and everywhere else. The name of JESUS works!
In Acts 3:1-16, there is an account of a lame beggar at the gate of the temple called Beautiful, whose life was changed because of the power of FAITH in the name of JESUS. When questions were asked, the Apostle Peter responded, saying: “And His name through faith in His name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.” (vs 16)
I believe that this is a powerful verse in the Book of Acts. The Apostle Peter helped us realise that it is not just about the name of Jesus – it is specifically through FAITH IN HIS NAME that we receive what we have prayed for. The New Living Translation (NLT) puts it in simple language, “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.”
As a believer, you must have FAITH in the name of JESUS. This should be a lifetime imperative. Lead life with absolute FAITH in the name of JESUS. The reason why many are not getting results is because of the absence of FAITH when they pray in that name. The name of Jesus is sufficient. The name is sufficient for you and your loved ones throughout this year—and beyond.
The name of JESUS will take you from where you are to where you are supposed to be.
When you pray in the name of JESUS, you must always believe that your prayer is answered and your request is a done deal. God wants you to get to that level of knowing when you pray, that if you have prayed it in the name of JESUS, then it must happen.
