DEVOTIONAL
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
"Beloved, it is important for us to understand that the life of the believer—you and me—is not designed to be governed by circumstances, emotions, or the limitations of the natural world. As children of God, we are called to live by a higher force: the force of FAITH. This spiritual force is vital to please God, receive His promises, and walk in the reality of His Kingdom."
When you begin to live a FAITH-governed life, you will no longer make decisions based on what you see or feel. You will also not be governed by other people’s opinions about you. Instead, you will align your thinking, speaking, and actions with the Word of God. The Word becomes the ultimate compass that directs your steps and gives you a perfect description of who you are in the volume of the Book. At this point, FAITH in GOD gives you the ability to see beyond your present situation and to embrace God’s reality as your ultimate truth.
The world is governed by sight and natural reasoning, but the Kingdom of GOD operates by FAITH. This is why the Bible declares four times that “the just shall live by faith” (Habakuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38). For many years, I had a debased view of myself because of other people’s opinions. This affected my ability to manifest the Kingdom in my everyday life because a man is only as he thinks in his heart (Proverbs 23:7). Suddenly, God began to deal with me through His Word, and the rest—as they say—is history. I simply started to refuse to allow fear, unbelief, or negative reports to dominate my heart.
When you allow FAITH to govern your life, you position yourself to experience the supernatural workings of God. The more you feed on God’s Word, the stronger your FAITH becomes. And as FAITH grows, your confidence in God deepens, and your life begins to reflect the victory that CHRIST has already secured for you.
SAY THIS PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I make this declaration before you and the hosts of Heaven: From today, I choose to live by FAITH and not by sight. Your Word shall forever govern my thoughts, my decisions, and my actions. I declare that my life is governed by FAITH and I experience Your power and victory every day, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
