DEVOTIONAL
LOOKING UNTO JESUS!
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
(Hebrews 12: 1-2)
The way to strip off every weight in our lives that slows us down is by keeping our eyes entirely on Jesus. He is the One who authors and perfects our FAITH. He is the One who gives life to our dream, and brings to pass everything He has told us.
A lot of times, many believers put their eyes on people, instead of fixing their gaze on Jesus. He is the Sample Son and the Mediator of the New Covenant. Everyone who looks up to Him, and comes to Him, receives rest and drastic change of life. (Matthew 11:28).
But the one who looks up to man receives the curse. For the Holy Bible says in Jeremiah 17:5 that “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.”
From this week and beyond, make up your mind to depend wholly on Jesus alone. Make up your mind to trust Jesus as your only Lifter and Source. Men can be used by God as channels, but God alone is your Source of Strength.
SAY THIS PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I surrender my life to you today - in total FAITH that you will make the best use of my life, which you have created. I surrender to you as my only Source. I will never give any man your place in my life. Thank you, Lord. Amen!
